The northernmost extreme of Colombia it is also the driest part of the country, the tropical dry forest here is home of a special biodiversity of flora and fauna, if you put together the Guajira peninsula and the isolated mountain range of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta – highest coastal mountain in the world – then you have the perfect trip to look and photograph endemic and near endemic species. Take part of this journey from the Caribe Ocean to one of the most important neotropical hotspots.

Day 01

Arrival Bogota, you will be transfer to the hotel.

Day 03

Birds of the Guajira peninsula, we will have chances for some beautiful birds next to the caribe ocean, night at town.

​

Day 05

We will be looking for a very special Monkey, the Cotton-top Tamarin at Tayronas park, also other monkeys and birds are possible. At the afternoon we will be transfer to Minca. Night at lodge.

Day 07

Time for a birds photography session in the mid lands of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta. Night at lodge.

Day 09

Last chance for birds photography at mid-elevation in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, at midday we will be transfer to the airport to take a flight back to Bogotá. Night at town.

Day 11

You will be transfer to el Dorado international airport, until next time.

Day 02

Today we will enjoy a Hummingbirds photo session on the easter Andes near Bogotá, at the afternoon we will take a flight to the city of Riohacha, night in town.

Day 04

Time for a photography session at the dry forest and  itds specialties, including the beautiful Vermilion Cardinal. At the afternoon we will be transfer to the area of Tayrona national natural park. Night at lodge.

Day 06

Time for a birds photography session in the lowlands and mid lands of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta. Night at lodge.

Day 08

Time for a birds photography session in the highlands of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, including spectacular views of the Caribe and the serrania. Night at lodge.

Day 10

Our last day in the field will take place in the incredible Paramo ecosystem in the outskirts of Bogotá, we will have high chances for some of the endemics and near endemic birds of the eastern Andes. Night at town.
